This poster was previously dry mounted to a backing board and has bonded to the board over time, so it is sold mounted and ready to display. It ships flat on the board, which keeps it well protected in transit.

Original Revenge of the Jedi advance teaser one sheet (27" x 41") with artwork by Drew Struzan, folded in thirds as issued. This is the dated version, carrying the "Coming May 25, 1983 to your galaxy" release line beneath the title.

Revenge of the Jedi was the working title for the third Star Wars film until George Lucas changed it to Return of the Jedi, reasoning that revenge was not something a Jedi would seek. The teaser posters had already been printed for the 1982 holiday season campaign and were pulled before wide theatrical use. A large share of the print run was destroyed, and roughly 6,800 remaining copies were sold through the official Star Wars Fan Club. The poster was printed in two versions, dated and undated, with the undated version making up a small minority of the run.

Tri-fold refers to how the poster was issued: folded into thirds along horizontal lines only. Most surviving originals are tri-folded, while rolled originals are the rarer exception. The fold pattern also matters for authentication. This is one of the most reproduced Star Wars posters, and known forgeries include rolled copies printed from a photograph of a folded original, where the fold lines show up in the print itself rather than as physical creases. A genuine tri-fold shows real fold lines with a crisp print, including a sharp 20th Century Fox logo, which is often blurry on reproductions. This example carries the 1982 Lucasfilm copyright and "Printed in U.S.A." in the lower left margin, and "The Revenge of the Jedi Teaser One Sheet" identification line in the lower right margin.
