Released exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, this is one of the landmark sets of The Vintage Collection era — 14 figures presented on "Revenge of the Jedi" cardbacks, housed in large gatefold Death Star II packaging with outer banner sleeve and dual carry handles intact.

The hook is the cardbacks themselves. During production of Return of the Jedi, the film was titled Revenge of the Jedi, and Kenner produced early packaging under that name before George Lucas changed the title shortly before release. Original "Revenge of the Jedi" cardbacks are among the most historically significant pieces in vintage Star Wars collecting. Hasbro's set pays direct homage to that history, presenting twelve standard TVC figures and two set-exclusive mini-carded figures on the pre-release logo. All fourteen cards are unpunched and offerless — no Prototype Boba Fett offer sticker, no redemption forms in the bubbles — making this the definitive carded presentation of these figures.

The Mouse Droid (VC67) is not available through any other retail channel. The twelve standard figures were later released on main-line cards carrying the Prototype Fett offer sticker, making the offerless SDCC cardbacks the only clean presentation of these figures without offer sticker or redemption insert. The Rebel Commando (VC26) includes a running change variant with an alternate face sculpt within the production run of the set itself.
