One of only two Expanded Universe vehicles produced for the Action Fleet line, alongside the Virago from Shadows of the Empire. The E-Wing originated in the Dark Empire comics as the New Republic's next-generation starfighter. Released alongside the TIE Defender near the end of Galoob's classic Action Fleet run, both shipped just before the line shifted entirely to Episode I product, giving them minimal shelf time. This is widely considered the toughest vehicle to track down sealed from the original Action Fleet releases.

Features include an opening cockpit, retractable landing gear, slide-out hatch that opens the air brakes, and pull-out nose sensor equipment. The R7 astromech has an Imperial emblem printed on its dome — a detail carried over from the comics.
