Part of Bandai's Meisho Movie Realization series, which reimagines Star Wars characters through the lens of feudal Japan. This was the original stormtrooper entry in the line, presenting the character as an "ashigaru," a common foot soldier of the Sengoku period.

Design arrangement by Takayuki Takeya with sculpting by Junichi Taniguchi, this release predates the later Teppo Ashigaru Sandtrooper and Taikoyaku Stormtrooper variants in the same line and served as the template for the desert and drummer reworks that followed. Designed to display alongside other Meisho Movie Realization figures such as Samurai General Darth Vader.
