Collection: Star Wars Archive Miniatures Bootleg FIgures

We all think that the Kenner Luke, Leia, Chewie and R2-D2 figures were the first Star Wars figures to be sold, but there was someone who beat Kenner to the market.

Archive Miniatures was a maker of small, metal figures for Dungeons & Dragons and similar gaming. Mere months after the release of Star Wars, in July 1977, Archive introduced a line of unlicensed Star Wars miniatures. They were sold at conventions and later in gaming magazines until the eventual cease and desist hit.

The figures are charming interpretations of Star Wars characters. Each one is unique, being hand cast. Some were sold painted or in sets. They are quite heavy.

The Star Wars Archive has a great deep dive article on the history of Star Wars Archive Miniatures.
