The metal badge was part of Takara's SF Pack line of carded impulse items. The back of the card shows the full SF Pack range: the three metal badges (C-3PO, R2-D2 and X-Wing Fighter), the four Star Wars button badges, the R2-D2 eraser and pencil sharpener, the Star Wars pendants and the Star Wars keychain.

Takara's Star Wars products were sold only in Japan for a single season and most of the small carded pieces were opened and worn, so carded examples are hard to find.

100% original vintage Takara Star Wars — no reproduction parts, ever.
